We are taking the opportunity this May for international MCS Awareness month, to raise awareness of this misunderstood illness and promote how to raise funds for MCS Aware.
Below you can read a heartfelt poem from one of our longstanding members who has been severely impacted by the symptoms of Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. They have been homeless, living in their car.
You can also read stories that are testimony to the intervention that some of our members have received from the charity throughout the years. Click below to read:
Thank you to the members that have contributed to this article.
If you would like to share your story, do e-mail us at info@mcs-aware.org and we will add you to the website at a later date.
How can you help us?
Here are some ways you can get involved to show your support but also help with raising funds so we can carry on raising awareness of MCS.
Volunteering
Volunteer support is welcome – whether you can offer just a few hours a week or more. If you have a professional service to offer, e.g. legal, marketing, HR etc., this type of volunteering is really helpful to us in accessing additional resources.

Corporate fundraising
Many organisations, schools and workplaces have a ‘charity of the year’, charity partner or nominated charity. The organisations then raise money through sponsored activities throughout the year or fundraise particularly at Christmas for example. How about suggesting MCS-Aware for this? We are happy to send further information in the form of our leaflets and posters. You will be helping to raise awareness as well as helping us to raise funds. Please email info@mcs-aware.org.
Fundraising through online shopping
Give As You Live: You can shop online at most of your high street shops and when you use the link here,https://www.giveasyoulive.com/join/mcsaware, you give money to MCS-Aware without spending an additional penny. Just copy the link into your website browser and follow the instructions. Whenever you make a purchase online ensure it is activated. It is so simple and we will get an amount when you purchase items from certain shops including John Lewis, Amazon, M & S and Tesco’s.
Or if you prefer we are also aligned with Easyfundraising
Easyfundraising partners with over 7,000 brands who will donate part of what you spend to a cause of your choice. It won’t cost you any extra. You can click on the link, https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/mcsaware/ The cost is covered by the brand. Brands pay us a commission because when you start your shop from the easyfundraising website or app, they can see we sent you to them.
Thank you so much for all your support! We are such a small charity that is still only operating due to the continued generosity of you all. We really want to keep going to help support more people.
