Through the Looking Glass
As I gaze into the looking glass-what do I see?
A WHOLE WORLD on the other side beckoning me!
Family meals, warm log fires, a fun-filled holiday
All the things that freedom brings, a mere hairs breadth away.
As I reach out my hand, I touch cold glass
And I wonder what it would be like to pass-
Through just once- just for a day
To have all my restrictions dissolve away.
I stand here in isolation with longing in my heart
Just gazing at the other world and I WISH I could take part!
A warm embrace- a hand to hold- can really mean SO much!
On my side- a thing denied- just simple human touch
However, did I get here- on this side that I’m on now?
Was it fate?
A BIG mistake?
Did I do wrong somehow?
I glimpse my own reflection,
It reminds me that I still exists,
On the wrong side of a world,
My body wilfully resists.
I cannot be here anymore!
There MUST be a portal or a secret door
That WILL put me on the right track
To finding SOME way to get back!
