May is MCS Awareness month around the world. It is a great opportunity to raise awareness of this often misrepresented illness and to raise funds for the cause. Here are some ways you can get involved to show your support but also help with raising funds so we can move closer to getting MCS recognised.
Quiz: One of our support group members has kindly put together a quiz to help raise funds for the charity. It costs £1 to enter and you can print off and sell it to as many people as possible. The winner will be announced at the end of June and will win £25. Click here (or on the picture to the right) to download the quiz and please print and give out to as many people you know (and charge £1 per quiz). You can send the money in by cheque (MCS-Aware, 56, Gaping Lane, Hitchin, Herts. SG5 2JE) or by PayPal or card through our website. Send your completed quiz to Jill Exley, East Lodge, Asknish, Lochgair, Argyll PA31 8SB. Support group and magazine members will be receiving 5 copies with their Spring/Summer magazine which will be with you shortly.
Give a Car: If you have a car to sell or scrap you can now donate it to MCS-Aware and GiveaCar will pick it up free! For more details see www.giveacar.co.uk or phone: 020 7736 4242.
Give As You Live: You can shop online at most of your high street shops and when you use the link here,https://www.giveasyoulive.com/join/mcsaware, you give money to MCS-Aware without spending an additional penny. Just copy the link into your website browser and follow the instructions. Whenever you make a purchase online ensure it is activated. It is so simple and we will get an amount when you purchase items from certain shops including John Lewis, Amazon, M & S and Tesco’s.
Fundraising pack: There are lots of ways you can help by raising funds through cake sales, coffe mornings, sponsored walk or a sponsored silence. The list goes on. Download our fundraising pack here which may give you ideas and help with planning an event.
You could also take leaflets to libraries or your local GP, put a poster on a supermarket notice board or just talk to someone new about MCS. Thank you so much for all your support! We are such a small charity that is still only operating due to the continued generosity of you all. We really want to keep going to help supporting more people and hopefully getting MCS recognised.
